French International School
The French International School of Hong Kong (FIS / Lycée Français International) was established in 1963 as one of the first international schools in the city. It is a unique institution that operates two distinct streams: the French Stream, which follows the French National Education curriculum (leading to the Brevet and French Baccalauréat), and the International Stream, which follows the English National Curriculum, IGCSE, and the IB Diploma Programme.
FIS is one of the largest international schools in Hong Kong, with four campuses located in Happy Valley, Jardine's Lookout, Chai Wan, and Tseung Kwan O. The Tseung Kwan O campus, opened in 2018, is a model of sustainable architecture and collaborative learning spaces. The school's philosophy emphasizes cultural diversity and multilingualism, with students learning French, English, and Mandarin from an early age.
As a non-profit organization, FIS is deeply rooted in the local community and maintains strong ties with the French Consulate. It is notable for its vibrant arts programs and its commitment to environmental education, often leading city-wide initiatives in sustainability among schools.
