Top International Schools in Bangkok (2026)

October 19, 2026 · Thailand · Bangkok

Bangkok has one of the largest international school scenes in Asia, which is great news for families and a bit overwhelming when you first start looking. Fees, curricula and commutes vary a lot from one school to the next, and in a city this size the commute matters more than many parents expect.

This guide starts with two featured schools from our directory, then covers five other well-known Bangkok schools so you can compare them side by side. Every fee below comes from the school's own published fee schedule for the 2026–27 academic year. The schools are listed in no particular order of quality, and we haven't ranked them.

IGCSEA-LevelsBritish
2 - 18 yearsTHB 590,300 - 1,021,800/year

Brighton College Bangkok is the Thai sister school of Brighton College in the UK. It opened in Bangkok in 2016 and teaches pupils aged 2 to 18 in English.

Curriculum. The school follows the English National Curriculum, leading to IGCSEs and then A-Levels in the sixth form. It describes its culture around three values: kindness, curiosity and confidence. Most teachers are recruited from the UK.

Location. The main campus is on Krungthep Kreetha Road in eastern Bangkok, a leafy, largely residential area with plenty of family housing. Brighton also runs a second campus on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road in Chatuchak, in the north of the city, with the same published tuition schedule and its own admissions team. That gives families living north of the centre a much shorter option.

Facilities. Facilities include a 650-seat theatre, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a football pitch, a dance studio and science labs. With the theatre and dance studio on site, it's a natural fit for children who love the performing arts as much as sport.

Fees (2026–27). Annual tuition runs from THB 609,200 for Pre-Nursery to THB 1,050,500 for Years 12 and 13. New families also pay a THB 5,000 application fee, a THB 200,000 admission fee and a refundable THB 150,000 security deposit. Lunch is billed separately at THB 31,500 to 37,800 a year. Siblings get 5% off for a second child, with larger discounts for bigger families, and paying the whole year in advance earns a 2% discount.

Who it suits. Brighton suits families who want a traditional British education and a clear route to UK universities through A-Levels, and who live in east Bangkok or near the Vibhavadi campus. It's also worth a look for children with a strong interest in drama, music or dance.

American School of Bangkok Green Valley (ASBGV)

American School of Bangkok, Green Valley Campus

American School of Bangkok, Green Valley Campus

American international day and boarding school near Bangkok offering AP and IB Diploma programs.

IB (DP)APAmerican
3 - 18 yearsTHB 350,000 - 750,000/year

The American School of Bangkok Green Valley is an independent American-curriculum school for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12, roughly ages 3 to 18. It's one of the few schools in the Bangkok area that offers both day places and boarding.

Curriculum. Teaching is based on the US Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards. In high school, students can choose Advanced Placement (AP) courses, including the AP Capstone and AP International Diploma, or the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Having both AP and IB on offer is unusual, and it gives older students real flexibility. The school says most of its teachers come from the United States or Canada.

Wellbeing. ASBGV puts student wellbeing at the centre, with mindfulness built into the curriculum. For children who are new to English, there's an English Language Learner (ELL) programme from Grade 1 to Grade 10.

Location. The campus is on Bangna-Trad Road at kilometre 15 in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan, inside a secure gated community just outside the city. The school puts it at about 30 minutes from Bangkok. It's a calm, green setting, and convenient for families living along the Bangna corridor or out towards Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Facilities and activities. Facilities include boarding houses, a golf academy, a robotics lab, sports fields and a swimming pool. After school, students can play basketball, badminton, volleyball, tennis, softball, football and swimming, join a golf programme, compete in robotics and F1 in Schools, or try the school's scuba programme.

Fees (2026–27). Tuition is charged per semester, with two semesters a year. Annual tuition works out at THB 430,000 for Pre-Kindergarten, THB 460,000 for Kindergarten 1–3, THB 607,000 for Grades 1–5, THB 690,000 for Grades 6–8 and THB 760,000 for Grades 9–12. Tuition includes meals and snacks, book rental and local field trips. New students pay a THB 200,000 registration fee and a refundable THB 30,000 deposit. There's also a campus development fee, either a refundable one-off THB 150,000 or THB 20,000 a year. Boarding for Grades 6–12 costs THB 181,125 per semester, including meals and laundry. ELL and learning support are extra.

Who it suits. ASBGV suits families who want an American education at fees well below many central Bangkok schools, students who'd like to choose between AP and IB, and families who need boarding. It also fits households living in the Bangna and Samut Prakan area.

How to choose a school in Bangkok

  • Start with the commute. Bangkok traffic is serious. Many families pick the school first and then find a home nearby, rather than the other way round. A 40-minute school run twice a day adds up quickly.
  • Think about where you'll go next. A-Levels lead naturally to UK universities, AP is built around US admissions, and the IB is recognised almost everywhere. If you might move country again, think about which system your child can carry with them.
  • Look at the full first-year cost. Entry fees and deposits vary widely, from about THB 250,000 to well over THB 800,000 depending on the options you choose, so compare the whole first-year bill, not just tuition.
  • Ask about support. If your child is still learning English or needs learning support, ask whether it's included in tuition or charged separately. Policies differ a lot between schools.
  • Visit if you can. A tour and a chat with current parents will tell you more about the atmosphere than any brochure.
