Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 19, 2026

This policy explains how International Schools DB ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies such as local storage on internationalschoolsdb.com. It is written to meet the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the EU ePrivacy rules, and Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA). For how we handle personal data in general, see our Privacy Policy.

Your choice

On your first visit we ask whether you allow optional cookies. Only strictly necessary cookies are used until you choose. Optional cookies are off by default, and rejecting them is as easy as accepting them. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything that happened before you withdrew it.

We keep your choice for 12 months, or 6 months if you rejected optional cookies, and then ask again. We also ask again if we add a new kind of cookie. To show we have your consent, we keep a record of each choice: a random ID (also stored in your cookie), the categories you chose, the date, the policy version, your browser type and your country. We do not store your IP address with it.

Strictly necessary

These are needed for the site to work or to provide something you asked for, so they do not need consent. They are not used to track you.

Analytics (optional)

We do not currently use analytics cookies. If we start, they will only be set after you allow analytics in Cookie settings, and they will be listed here first.

Embedded media (optional)

Some school pages include a video from YouTube or Vimeo. Until you allow embedded media, or click to play a single video, we show a placeholder, and nothing is loaded from those services. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and Vimeo's "do not track" setting. Once a video loads, the provider may set its own cookies or use local storage, under its own policy: Google/YouTube, Vimeo.

Virtual tours load only when you click them. They come from the tour provider named on the placeholder, which may set its own cookies.

Other services that receive data without cookies

  • Maps. Map images come from Google's map servers, so Google receives your IP address, as with any web request. The map images do not set cookies, but depending on your browser settings, your browser may send any cookies it already holds for google.com with these requests.
  • Fonts and code libraries. Fonts come from Google Fonts, and some code libraries from public content delivery networks (cdnjs, unpkg, jsDelivr). These services receive your IP address so they can deliver the files.
  • Listing statistics. We count school page views and clicks, such as on a school's website or phone number, as daily totals per school with the visitor's country only. This uses no cookies or identifiers. To avoid counting a double click twice, a one-way hash of the request is held in server memory for 30 seconds and then discarded.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, some parts of the site, such as forms and sign-in, may not work.

Your rights and contact

Under the GDPR and the PDPA you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, to object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Thailand, the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC); in the EU or UK, your local supervisory authority. To ask about this policy or exercise your rights, please use our contact page.
