Chinese International School

Chinese International School (CIS) was founded in 1983 as Hong Kong’s first school to offer a dual-language (English and Mandarin) curriculum. Located on the scenic Braemar Hill, CIS is consistently ranked among the top international schools in the world for its IB Diploma results. The school’s mission is to inspire students to lead an active life of purpose and to build bridges between East and West.

The curriculum is unique in its approach to bilingualism: in the Primary school, students are taught by two classroom teachers (one English-speaking, one Mandarin-speaking). In the Secondary school, students follow the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the IB Diploma Programme (DP). A hallmark of the CIS experience is 'Hangzhou CIS', a one-year boarding program for Year 10 students at a purpose-built campus in mainland China, focusing on language immersion and personal growth.
