Osaka YMCA International School

Osaka YMCA International School (OYIS) was established in 2001 and has grown into a significant educational institution in the heart of Osaka City. Initially focused on early childhood and elementary education, the school expanded to include a high school and recently became a fully authorized IB Diploma Programme provider. The school operates under the global YMCA mission of 'mind, body, and spirit,' emphasizing social responsibility and character development alongside academic excellence.

The curriculum is inquiry-based, utilizing the IB framework to encourage students to become lifelong learners. OYIS is known for its tight-knit community feel, where faculty and families work closely together. The school's urban location in Nakatsu makes it highly accessible for families living within the city. Students participate in various service-learning projects and local community engagements, which is a hallmark of the YMCA's educational philosophy.
