Deutsche Schule Tokyo Yokohama (DSTY)

The Deutsche Schule Tokyo Yokohama (DSTY) is located in the Tsuzuki ward of Yokohama and serves as the primary educational institution for the German-speaking community in the Kanto region. Founded in 1904, it is the oldest German school in East Asia. While its primary language of instruction is German, it maintains a highly international outlook and offers a bilingual stream.

The curriculum follows the German educational standards (Thuringia), leading to the Abitur, which is the German entrance qualification for universities. For international students, the school offers an IB Diploma Programme that can be taken alongside or instead of the Abitur. This dual approach ensures that graduates are well-prepared for higher education in Germany, Japan, or anywhere else in the world.
