The German International School of Houston (GISH) is a small, specialized school focused on providing high-quality German immersion education. Serving students from 18 months through 5th grade, GISH offers a unique environment where students become fluent in German through natural interaction and structured academic play. The school serves both German-speaking expatriates and families interested in the cognitive benefits of early childhood bilingualism.
As a recognized 'Excellence in German' school, it is supported by the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA). The curriculum integrates German educational standards with local Texas requirements, focusing on science, art, and music alongside language acquisition. GISH is known for its close-knit community and its ability to prepare students for seamless transitions back into the German school system or into other international programs in the US.
