St. Catherine's Montessori

St. Catherine's Montessori was established in 1966 by Sister Mary Patricia Grieb and Sister Edna Ann Hebert. It stands as a pioneer in the Montessori community, being the first Montessori school in Houston to expand its offerings through the high school level. The school follows the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) standards, emphasizing an education that follows the natural development of the child while fostering independence and community responsibility.

The campus is situated on 8 acres and includes an urban farm, which serves as an outdoor classroom for environmental science and sustainability studies. This 'Erdkinder' approach for adolescents allows students to engage in real-world work and community management. St. Catherine's is known for its serene, child-centered environment and its strong emphasis on spiritual development and global awareness, attracting a diverse student body from across the Houston area.
